Maureen Adamson, the sixth president of Fleming College in Peterborough, became the interim president and CEO of Colleges Ontario on Jan. 1, 2025.

Adamson has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the post-secondary, health care, government and non-profit sectors.

Before joining Fleming, she served as Ontario’s deputy minister of tourism, culture and sport and deputy minister of the status of women. Her previous roles include president and CEO of the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences, CEO of Cystic Fibrosis Canada and vice-president of corporate services at Mohawk College.

Ontario’s colleges are key contributors to the province’s nuclear energy future. Through industry-aligned programs in power engineering, radiation safety, electrical and mechanical technology and skilled trades, colleges ensure graduates are job-ready for careers across the nuclear supply chain. Colleges partner with nuclear operators, research institutions and equipment manufacturers to provide students with hands-on experience using cutting-edge technology. This collaboration helps address labour market needs, supports innovation in reactor maintenance and refurbishment and strengthens Ontario’s global leadership in nuclear excellence.
